thank you thats exactly what i needed to know so fret marks in the self blues is a nono and u want to breed away from it?

is fret marks that much of a corcern tho will the judge rather pick a bird without just wondering as i dont know much about self blue i have a pair and thats it ill be breeding the boy to blacks as they are far much better quaility over my self blue pullet should i worry about the colour more...

barb i can deffinatley see were ur coming from and if i ever did see my silkies go to a bad home i would be sad and unhappy and i would just never sell to that person again and if it happen more often then id like then i may have to change things

so far most of my birds i have sold have gone to good homes and i still keep contact with those people sometimes the roosters dont but i cant bring myself to kill them myself i would love to keep all the silkies i raise but with the amount i breed to get Show birds i can only keep a few Pet...

it will pass on. as to use it or not every breeder has there own perspective if it is the best you got then use it if u have better then i wouldnt JMO tho

i do agree when i bought birds from this very well known breeder it was my stupidity not his but i fully agree with ur statement

yes i agree i got caught a couple times when i frst started people would put a name to a bird and u would think its good quality not always i have found that u need to learn as much as u can about silkies so when u see what u are buying u know its good or bad my point is its best to learn that u...

yes i know some top breeders that kill all there silkies at the end of the year instead of selling them so they are known for Show quaility stock. personally i would rather sell PQ birds then kill them as all birds desearve a chance to live just becuase they arent perfect birds dosent mean...

I sure will barb and u keep breeding and showing Kurt and Jessica and there babies to get the coulor out there next year will hopefully be even better for silkies

yes the show was great everyone was shocked how many silkies were there and the qualty of the birds and the Blue cream were awsome which seems like barb s going with opal as the judged told her the blacks were amazing aswell and the splashes were awsome i was very glad to see a splash win first...
