what to feed the chickens in the summer months

My 6 pullets and 4 layers enjoy a cup of cool vanilla yogurt with some oats and blueberries mixed in. I have a wild bird feeder that I fill with different kinds of thinly sliced lettuces (favorite) and chopped grapes. They love watermelon. They get grower feed and oyster shell all day. They usually get something to peck on in a clamp style BBQ basket that hangs in the run, like 1/2 crookneck squash, zucchini, tomato, sweet potato, etc. I usually have a flat of chicken salad growing on the deck for their enjoyment.
And It is a "HO-DOWN" on weekends with live crickets and mealworms every evening before they retire for evening. Hubby and I enjoy this time with our girls in the run teaching them tricks.

BTW . . my girls love Marigold flowers.. If I find some on sale I bring them home and they eat the entire flower and leaves. It is cute to see them huddled around a flat of bright yellow marigolds enjoying an afternoon snack.
After they devour the flat I dump the remaining soil into the dirt bath area.

only thing i would say that 3 roosters and 4 hens could become stressful. make sure they have as much space as possible and check for stress of the hens. ideally you want 10 hens per rooster to avoid fighting and stress issues.
