Letting my bantam free range with the big girls. I'm scared!

Things like this all though as terrible as they are will happen from time to time when you free range. And it always seems to happen to your favorite as well. But the way I see it I would rather have them free range and have that risk then to have them stuck in a coop and run all day.

Thank you so much. I needed to hear that. I'm so glad she was at least happy and free when she passed. Since then I've lost another to a coyote. I seriously am battling within myself on whether or not to let them out or not. They really don't like being cooped up.

It's always a battle I just lost one of my favorite pullets that I've raised since she was an egg to a hawk. But thanks God the only predators I have to worry about in the day time are birds and that's it. As far as coyotes or other animals of prey maybe get a guardian animal if that's in your budget or build a nice big run for them. But like I said all of that cost money.

And it's easy for all of us to say whats wrong or right but at the end of the day just do what you believe is best for your flock
