been reading a few days, and allot of folks on the site sure know their chicken chit. Glad a I found it, and look forward to reading and learning lots.
currently we run about 7 Buff Orph. and one loan barred rock hen, and one Rhode Island rooster.
in the next month, we are looking to add 20-30 Black Aust and Buff Orph's and Barred Rocks.
I also want to get a few roosters. Probably a couple of RIR, and a few Black Australorps.
I currently have a 10'X12' Coop, and a 4' X 8' Coop, and one large (40' X 100') fenced in chicken yard for the birds to wander around in.
other animals on the little ranchito, include four Californian rabbits, hoping for many more soon. we also have 10 Kiko goats, 5 wethers that are waiting for cooler weather before butchering, 4 does that should be getting bred by our big boy buck. One large pig, that is also waiting for cooler weather. Numerous yard/barn cats, and six kids that get the great privilege of feeding and taking care of the animals.
We had a surprise for us at feeding time yesterday
so now we have new additions. One for the herd, a little doe, that was named Ivy, since her momma's name is Rose.
One for the freezer.
Rose, being the oldest doe we have is an exceptional momma, and all are doing fine.
