We were looking to get some more chicks and possibly a duckling this spring, my question is this- can one duckling be raised with chicks, or will it get lonely?:/

Pending input from a duck expert i would say that as they are social birds, they need some of their own kind.

They could be raised together if done carefully, but the duckling would be happier with another duckling friend.

Yes they can but they make a big mess with the water all the time. I do think a duck would be happier tho with their own kind. You might have the problem to if you get a male duck he would try and mate with your chickens. A male duck can kill a hen if he mates with her.
