Long time lurker finally joining

I love this site and I've been lurking around here for ages lapping up information from the resident chicken geniuses.

I had a small flock when I was growing up. They were bantams and spoiled rotten. My family gave me a pair of young pullets as a housewarming gift when we finally bought our own home almost two years ago. I 'accidentally' bought some more chicks when I went to the feed store(which were supposed to be ameraucana and I don't think they are, but I love them). I keep having conversations with people about how much fun chickens are and how easy the really are to keep and I got this brilliant idea that I would sell some chicks this year. One week into this brilliant idea and I have to admit I am a chick junkie. I want to keep way too many of them.

Hah, thanks! I'm in love, and my family thinks I've gone insane. I've figured out several breeds but some of them have me stumped. Pretty much all the "fancies" are unfamiliar to me! Some look like they're going to have poofy crests, and they're all supposed to be specific breeds with no mixed ones. Who knows! This is part of the fun. It's also an excuse to take soooo many cute chick photos

My family is the same way, lol. You might want to try posting pics of them in the breed and gender section of the forum. Good luck figuring them out!!

It's all chaos but it is fun. The Ducks were not expected at all. Those dirty little birds weren't supposed to be here for weeks! And they sent extras!!! One has an identity crisis and leapt in with the chickens, I gave up on removing her. She is now an honorary chicken.

Hi and welcome to BYC - glad to have you onboard. Your chicks are cute and I'm sure they will keep you out of trouble for a while! With your addiction, you are for sure in the right place for everything chicken (and duck) so make yourself at home and enjoy.
