10 Baby Chicks, 6 Breeds, Which One's Which? (Lots of Pics!)

Our chicks just arrived! And now we're trying to figure out who's who. There are 10 chicks and 6 breeds:

2 Buff Brahmas
Partridge Cochin
2 Blue Easter Egger
Olive Egger
2 Barred Plymouth Rock
2 Golden Laced Wyandotte

And now for the baby chicks! The picture appears above the number and general description:



1. Grey body and black back. Cream spots on its face. Dark, clean legs. Looks like it has muffs.


2. Grey body with a black head and back. Cream spots on its face and a cream spot on the back of its neck. Dark, clean legs. Single comb?


3. Dark brown body. Red spots on its face. Clean legs. Pea comb?


4. Grey body with a brown neck and red head. Feathered legs. Single comb?


5. Black body with a white belly. White spot on the back of its neck. Clean legs.


6. Black body with a white belly. Dark, clean legs. Single comb? Looks like it might have muffs.


7. Blue/cream body. Clean legs. Looks like it has muffs.


8. Dark brown body. Red spots on its face. Feathered legs. Single comb?


9. Grey body with brown neck and red head. Feathered legs. Single comb?


10. Grey body with a black head. Red spots on its face. Pea comb?

Here are the key identifying features of each possible breed-
Brahmas- Pea combs (small ridge), feathered legs
Cochin- Single comb (row of spikes), feathered legs
D'Uccle- Single comb, muffs (fluffy cheeks), feathered legs
Easter Egger/Olive Egger- usually pea comb, usually muffs, usually greenish legs
Barred Rock- black with white spot on the back of head, single comb, yellow legs with dark wash
Wyandotte- rose comb (flat wedge), bright yellow legs.

I updated the post to try and pick out comb types (although I'm struggling a little bit to differentiate them with such tiny chickens!) and leg color. None of them have green legs, though. They're all have either yellow legs or have yellow toes with dark legs.

I also created a new post for just the bantams, so I edited them out of this one. I think that I'm getting a general idea of who's who in the standard size, but am completely lost with the bantams!

2 and 5 are your Barred Rocks.
1, 6, and 7 are your Easter Egger/Olive Eggers.
3 and 10 are the Wyandottes.
The Brahmas and Cochins are going a bit tougher. Look closely for the spikes of a single comb or the ridges of a pea comb.

That is 100% what I was thinking. Thanks everyone!

I'm pretty sure that #6 is the Olive Egger and that #1 and #7 are the Easter Eggers, but it will be interesting to watch them grow up and be able to tell for sure! #1 and #7 definitely have muffs. They're getting more prominent as their feathers come in, although they're completely different colors.

If I had to guess I would say that 6 was the Olive Egger as well.
