Bought a incubator sight unseen picked it up trusted who I ought it from which may have been the first mistake, get home open it up and all I will say was GROSS , 5 hours of cleaning cleaning and more cleaning tried bleach, after it was cleaned and wiped down it still smells.we have washed and sanatized everything any suggestion short of taking it to the dump?? Im shocked anything was hatching in it. Any suggestions what else I can do??

Prop the door open and let it air out in the garage (or someplace out of the living area). If there is still residue you will need to scrub that out, but otherwise let it sit for a few days. Or try a pan of baking soda inside and close it up. Or both.

Tried oxine with no luck, Im going to try charcoal next, I would have never ever sold a incubator that I didnt empty the trays and clean first.

Normally I would have checked it over but had dealt with this person in past so it was nite time and I trusted my first mistake, this is the pan that goes in bottom , now just close your eyes and imagine what the trays looked like,I always clean after each use. 5 hrs of scrubing clean water more scrubing finally clean but still smells

Maybe some white vinegar would help, the baking soda previously suggested is a good idea too. Maybe mix it with some water to make a paste and let it sit in the trays for a while. Both are odor neutralizers. The incubator will smell like vinegar for a little while (if you use it), but anything's got to be better than nasty/rotten/old hatched egg smell!

I don't think it was ever cleaned you have no clue what we found that was the nicest picture. and this is ready to add eggs mind you. I guess my idea of clean means the trays were at least dumped and scraped all the remains out.
lesson learned when buying ANYTHING I will always check it out good no matter who is selling it!
