6 week chicks.. - Page 2

These are the only pics of her that I have. Not on the willing to sit still to have a photo shoot list.
Pay no attention to the blue splash wyandotte in the front lol. She is a real pain in the bottom and a non layer (never once did I get a decent egg from that big freeloader)

The reason I pop the pics up is so you can see that although the pale legs are a breed standard not all birds meet that standard. Mine has yellow legs.

HORRID pics of her I know. Sorry about that part. Oh her name is Bonnie by the way. (Bonnie blue lassie LOL)

I see yours have yellow legs, the two I had were show bred, so they had slate legs.
Chickens, muscovy ducks, turkeys, donkeys , goats, dogs, fish, parakeets, a parrot, and a cat.

Chickens and dogs are healing to the soul.

I brake for squirrels.

Some of my birds.

Thank you. Those are the old ladies in my flock. This was taken last winter before the new ones arrived.

I am certain yours will be just as lovely.

These are the pair that would be one of the parents and i also have some chicks like this that are "splashed or paint" (sorry still new)

AH that explains the yellow legs. They are in fact mixed breed chickens. Sorry that I can no longer call them as blue andalusian. I am sure they will still be super cool to have in your flock.

It will be interesting to see how they develop. Please be sure and post an update on them as they grow.

I think i kind of knew it when we got to see them today. Shucks! Thanks though! I still love my little chicks and they will all stay. We were under the impression she had a few breeds of pure she had chicks from. Oh well we already have a few coops whats one more for some blue copper marans probably or maybe blue laced wyandottes! I love all the blues!

So mixed chickens... If they are barred are they male? Or only in certain cases?

The barring is only in certain circumstances. I am not an expert in the genetics of it but I am thinking the barring has to do with Black Sex Linked males. Since I do not breed chickens myself I really have not followed closely on what mixed with what results in what.

I am certain there are threads on the breeds forums that would be clear and very informative.
