Really hoping Java is a hen....hatched around Mar 5th...such a sweet chicken but I also see little spur buttons :-(

Oh boy...a little tricky one. The top 2 pics looks more pullet but that bottom pic...those tail feathers, the face, that 'roo stance'...I'm going to lean toward cockerel based on the bottom pic however pullets can develop spurs also. Keep us updated!

And I think some of the black feathers, which will molt out and change to mottled, almost have an irradecent sheen...but comb is light colored and this chicken is so super sweet, comes when called and will jump up on my lap and "talk" to me.

I have a buff orpington roo that is a huge baby...spoiled rotten honestly

Nine week old buff Orpington. Supposed to be a pullet, but my other two look nothing like this one. Also, I think this one is trying to crow. Is there any hope for her/him?
