Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or A Cockerel? Click Here!

Yeah, they were both acting roostery from the get-go too. Now they are having flapping competitions, and they like to stand up tall and do a little chest-bump thing. Super adorable right now. But in a few months that's gonna be too much testosterone for my little flock.

@tizabel_. 2 weeks is a bit too young to tell, especially with Orpingtons as they are a slower maturing breed. I’m not sure how to feather sex but will happily look at some photos in a few weeks time :)

@Alyssa-Bee.
Phoenix - Pullet
Datson - Cockerel
Dishy - Can’t see the body but from head would say pullet
Lad - Pullet
Ruby - Yes I agree would say cockerel
Trudy - From the comb I’d say pullet so far
Confetti- Possibly a pullet but not convinced
Comet and Spark both look like pullets :)
The last ones could be Welsummers but don’t look like SS to me. Very cute chicks!

@kerrialexander. Hm, not too sure. I’d say pullet from the lack of comb and wattle development but looking at the tail I’m not 100%. Feel free to send another photo in a few weeks time =)

@Eyehartephotography. Looks like Corey is a cockerel!

@afieldssnowyegger. Currently Fluffy isn’t looking super cockerel-ish from the head. But since you also said it has bigger feet and is bigger in general, it could be an indication that he’s a boy. It would help to have some body photos, too.

@cathjpask. Eek! The first three are all cockerels for sure, and I’m thinking Neve could be a boy too. Neve looks like he/she has quite a big body and comb looks rather red too for a 3 week old. Fingers crossed she turns out to be a girl though.

Oooo - thanks! I'll start you off with an easy one, probably. My hatched babies are just three weeks and one day, but I'm pretty sure we've got a double roo situation on our hands here.

The both sprouted feathers and little tails within the first few days, which made me hopeful. But right around two weeks the pink combs and wattles appeared.

Here is Pat, the Black Copper Maran:

Here is Lou, the American Bresse:

I'm guessing zero percent chance that either of my little guys is a pullet, but would love to get an expert opinion!

All roosters.. :(

Yep they sound like their acting like cockerels too.

If you need to know the gender of any other chicks or chickens, I'd love to help

Same for me too, I'd love to help out as well!
