The past couple day it's been hot HOT out and this is about the second time I caught my large gamecock just laying down, I do not have cold yogurt or fruit to give him and he will not stand water on him unless I hold him instead I was debating should I just trim his feathers being he has alot and he is a heavy bird. I wouldn't doubt that's what his problem is, he drinks excessive amount of water so I'm just not sure if I should just give him a battle trim or what. He is in shaded area 24/7 unless he's on the line.

I wouldn't trim his feathers, they also protect them from the sun. You could run a fan on him and put some ice in his water. It's normal for a hot bird to lay around.

A battle trim wouldnt bald him just shorten the saddle feathers, the fuzz, trimming his sickles wouldn't do any good. He does have a beautiful full hackle hough.

Shade, access to cool ground and ample good water all that is needed. It is far from hot yet, although this is the time of year their physiology must switch from cold to hot conditions and it can be hard on them.

Yeah, he's the only one having troubles handling it being said I did just find him running the streets just over a week ago he's a bit fat over lean so I assume where he came from he was babied heavily yet he still has the gameness of a Grey.
