My daughter won State for Public Speaking in 4H so we will be going to the Western Nation Round Up the first week of January. Hopefully the weather will be nice to us.I'm about 6 hours south, but I drive up there quite often.
I've been through Colorado several times but never spent a lot of time there.

Hopefully the weather will be nice to us.They have tour options while we are there and she wants to go snowboarding. I am going to opt for the Colorado Springs tour because they will be going to an Alpaca farm. I am going to see if I can find out which one we are going to so I can pre-explore it on-line.

I hope the weather is nice for you, too! You just never know how it's going to be. Hope you have a great trip. Driving or flying?
My kids and grand-kids are there, and we're planning on going up for Christmas, but if the weather is bad we'll wait and go in January. Then we go back again to babysit for a week in February.

I lived in Colorado Springs for 17 years... it's pretty, nice to visit, but will never live there again... look up Red Rocks Canyon... Garden of the Gods is gorgeous...
Flying. I said no way I was going to chance driving out in January! Flying will be chancy enough.
We are retired Air Force so I have been to the Springs before to visit others. Garden of the Gods is on the Tour. I am doing some research on the Alpaca ranch that we are supposed to visit and I am not getting a warm fuzzy. Lots of different website links but no current info. I saw one post that said They were no longer doing tours due to serious health issues/ I don't know. I sent am email to the 4H folks to make sure they are still going there.

Nice pics. I am pretty sure we went through some of that when I was a kid, but I haven't as an adult. I am looking forward to the visit but not so sure about the time of year!X2. Wear layers for sure... good windbreaker over the top... make sure you have gloves, scarves, longjohns or similar just in case... if it's cold, it can be bitter, windy cold...
