Hi all ...
I volunteer at a wildlife rehab center on the weekends and we unfortunately get a lot of calls on domestic ducks dumped into the wild .. a lot of times after being given as Easter gifts and then the families realize how much work keeping ducks are..
I have adopted quite a few of them .. Khaki Campbells, Muscovy, Pekin .. you name it..
I brought home this duck in the front last year:
I assumed she was probably some mutt .. she has some khaki campbell characteristics .. but a stripe on her face and bright orange feet.. more color variation in wings too..
Does anyone know what she is?
Also - I keep calling her a "she" but I recently caught her mounting our muscovy girl in the pond .. I've never seen two females mount each other.. so maybe "she" is in fact a "he"?? Anyone have any ideas???
