Ducklings not eating starter feed

So I have introduced my two khaki Campbell ducklings to peas and herbs and now they arent really eating the chick starter feed. what should I do to make sure they're getting enough food

Our chickens eat when hungry and the more you free range the less feed they'll eat since they can fill up a good amount of daily food on greens and bugs ect

They aren't in the run yet, actually hoping to do that this week. They are barely touching the starter feed and it's been about two days now. I guess I'm giving them enough peas :/

If they're hungry for other things and not eating the starter food it might be that they don't like it.

For example my first batch of hens won't touch pellets. I tried every brand of pellets available at my local TSC and they would not touch them. I tried feeding them at different stages of duck maturity ... babies, teens, adults, layers.. nope.

Peas are like duck crack .

If you think they're choosing to eat the peas over their starter food, you could try mixing in the peas with the starter food and see what the dish looks like after a couple of hours. Hopefully they'll just eat mouthfuls of it now that the peas are mixed in. Gradually reduce the peas until they're eating your starter feed & then you can offer the peas as a special bonding treat.

If they eat all the peas and leave behind the starter feed you still won't know if they just really like peas or really hate their starter feed. I'd probably try some other feed at this point. Wild birds or friends with poultry would probably gladly accept the starter feed.


Turns out my first batch of hens like game bird style feed or whole grain type feeds. So thats the kind of food i give them now.

Thanks, I think they are completely turned off lol they'd were eating it just fine for two weeks and now it seems like it's just sitting there. Since the chicks are now devouring the feed I will just get the ducks something else

I called over to my feed store and they don't have any other brands of feed but they suggested I add cracked corn to what I have what do you think and do you have any brands you would suggest that I could order from somewhere?
