One has pipped and is starting to zip, making very slow progress though. At least one other had internally pipped nearly 20 hours ago but no pip. One hasn't pipped internally, we can still see veins and we think some movement in there. The other 3 eggs we don't know about, we only candled 3 of the eggs last night, we felt like we shouldn't have even done that but we were about to give up all hope. So after we saw a couple of internal pips we stopped and quickly closed the bator.

What should we do now?!

Well we just candled. We've lost 4. Another has pipped underneath, we thought we'd lost that two but then it poked it's beak at the membrane under the pip. We've made a little air hole in the membrane and it moved a bit more. Hopefully it's just resting now and getting used to breathing air, it hasn't moved again for the last 10 minutes.

The first duckling is still making slow progress, he's chirping a little and pecking at the shell fairly regularly.

We just candled. We've lost 4 ducklings. Another had started to pip underneath and there was a large dark/yellow area around the pip. We thought he hadn't made it but then the beak nudged at the membrane just underneath the pip. We made a hole in the membrane and saw a bit more movement just after. It's been still for a while, really hope it's just resting and getting used to breathing air.

The first duckling is still making slow but steady progress.

PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP!! The first duckling has been partially zipped for hours and seems to be getting tired! The duckling that pipped the wrong end hasn't moved for a couple of hours and the membrane looks brown :,( I don't know if I'll kill them by helping or if I'm killing them by doing nothing!!!

If it was me, I'd help a bit (or maybe more than a bit but not 100% for fear of injury) but I've never hatched eggs, just seen it done. This post will bump it, I hope someone more knowledgeable hops on!

Alright if any of the ducks are still in the air cell but havent pipped break a hole where the beak is for air as for the ones zipping start working your way around the egg if you see blood stop and carry on after a hour or two i beleive if you search on here there is a topic on assisted hatching and how to preform it

Thanks I've read through the assisted hatching pages. We're going to help the duckling that's partially zipped as he seems exhausted.

We made a hole in the other egg earlier as it had pipped in the middle underneath the egg. It poked its beak out a couple of times but nothing for the last few hours. I'm so scared!

Alright well the one that has pipped but has made no efforts of escaping should probably be left to his own devices until tommorow or at least give him 8-12 hours just to ensure your not too early

Hoping they make it :)
