So I have 5 Royal Palm turkey's and we are trying to figure out which are hens and which are jakes. They are just 2 months old. Will I need to just wait a while longer or does anyone have a suggestion to tell their sex?
 
It's best to wait a few more months, sometimes you can tell by size at that age, the toms will feel heavier. You can't be certain until they get around 4-6 six months and they start to get their adult feathers and the toms loose their head feathers.
 
these are mine from last year, two of them turned out to be toms, the sweetgrass on the left and the bourbon on the left, in hindsight they both look male in this photo. At this point I thought I had three toms based on weight and my educated guess. It took a couple more months for me to be sure.

we have Royal Palm eggs in the bator due to hatch in a day or two. very exciting. How do you like the breed thus far?
 
Most varieties are the same as far as personality, just the feather color changes. So yours should be nosey trouble makers too.
 
These are our first turkey's and we had people tell us they were dumb acting but that is totally a matter of opinion because I love love my Palms and they are very smart in my opinion. We raised our baby turkeys with a bunch chicks we got around the same time and the hens follow the turkey's lead. I tell them good morning every morning and the turkey's all pip and squeak back they are just amazing.
 
Well, today is day 0 for the incubator and no hatching. We did have some rocking and peeps yesterday and a hole was made in one egg. However, no other action. Very sad. We will wait a few more days. It is the first time for us doing this with a new incubator. We think the hygrometer is not right so we will buy our own for more accuracy.

We stopped turning at day 24. Too early? hmm.

Well good news - two of the 8 eggs hatched this morning!!! Yaaay. Their hatching process is a little different than chickens. LOL
