Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

I absolutely LOVE the ranch flavored wheat thins. Dun even really need cream cheese. But dip em in ranch dressing...m.mmmmm...mm.hehehehhe

Yes I have tried all the wheat thins. Have you tried the tomato basil, out of this world.

I am resting in fact I am going to get settled right now and will get back on again just before bed. I haven't got a chance to read new posts I am just keeping up with the ones coming into my email. I will catch up as I get feeling up to it. In the mean time I am just keeping all of you in my prayers.

Thanks again.

Awww Zoo! What awesome gifts! I would cry too. Hopefully your knee will heal quickly and you can start cookin' up a storm.

I made a trip to the Asian Market in Cleveland today, (along with the Italian market and both main markets) so I cooked Vietnamese tonight. Goi Cuon (fresh spring rolls with hoisin-peanut dipping sauce),Goi Ga (torn chicken and cabbage salad) Ca Kho To (catfish simmered in a clay pot), Bo Luc Lac (shaking beef with garlic sauce), lots of fragrant rice and Banh Dua Ra Men (coconut-caramel flan) for desert.

Dinner was good, but the hot dog from the street vendor was THE BEST!

My stomach is roaring like TEN big lions, happyhen! That sounds like my kind of meal ..for prep and consumption! Yummmmy!

[bAneesa][/b] - I'll post them on the other site tomorrow. Right now I'm in the middle of making roasted beet ravioli. An old friend asked a favor and I'm catering her New Year's Eve party.

ranchhand - there's always room for more at our table!

Cool! We have a new friend at the table! Welcome ranchhand! I look forward to hearing about all your creations. I also enjoy experimenting, so please share with us your creations (at least the ones that worked.

Speaking of the new friend at the table, wouldn't it be fun sometime to plan ahead and make the same supper? It'd be kind of like enjoying it together.

Glad you're resting Zookeeper9000. You will heal, although it may not feel like it now. I don't know that I could run a marathon now, but I do take 5 - 6 mile walks now, which I couldn't do before surgery. Too bad we're not closer. I'm sure we could bring by some tasty treats.

OK happyhen and Aneesa's Muse, I have a question for you. Back in the BC years (before children) hubby and I went to Europe and stayed in this wonderful budget hotel in the Latin Quarter in Paris. There was this great big communal kitchen there and we got to know another traveler who was studying art there at the Sorbonne. We usually concocted most of our meals out of the local markets often sharing with other guests, but one night we splurged and went out for Vietnamese food with the student we met. She introduced us to a meal of marinated beef that was served with a plate of red lettuce leaves, various sprout and radish type goodies, and a dipping sauce. You would take the meat and a piece of lettuce, lots of the goodies, then dip it in the sauce, much like you'd do with Thai Lettuce Wraps, but it's different tasting than that. I cannot for the life of me find out what it was called, even though I've been to numerous Vietnamese restaurants here in the states and even though hubby's cousin's wife is Vietnamese. Do you know?

Dinner was nothing fancy. We had some errands to run and stopped off at fast food Mexican.

yaayyy BB!

Last night, I fixed mac and cheese, added some cut up turkey, a handful of crumbs from my sourdough bread and some shredded cheese, and baked it for about 20 mins. It went over really well. lol

That sounds very tasty! Mac from scratch or the box? I admit it, I have never made mac & cheese from scratch........
