Our Buff Orps will be the next to move from the nursery to the farm.
My wife and i bought 20 australorp chicks back in april. We got home and noticed there were 4 crosses in the mix. We were not upset though because they were great looking crosses. We asked her what she had on her farm, and she said 1 australorp roo and the hens were australorp hens, faverolle hens, and 1/2 aracauna 1/2 cochin hens. Soooooo, what do you guys think?
Any new development with your crosses?

The first one, still not 100 percent but acts like a hen, the second one is a hen, and the third is a roo. Growing like weeds!
In the first pic, the black (left) or the black with red (right) ? Curious about the one on the right (black with red), comb looking Cockerel, the black's comb looks hen but looks like "saddle" feathering maybe developing. Thanks for your update, waiting to hear the end results, that black with red is REALLY pretty, got my heart

You're absolutely right, I apologize, I forgot which pictures I had posted. Yes the one with red is looking like a roo. However, he still hasn't crowed. All the other Roo's have begun to crow. Late bloomer?

I think late blooming cockerel. I can't see the top of the head, but those markings and the shiny tail scream boy to me.

I'm 'in love' with that one, glad it's yours cause I wouldn't be able to keep a him, I'm thinking you probably can
Let us know if it surprises us and lays an egg
