Waiting for First Eggs

Got my second egg this morning and caught my Delaware in the act. LOL. She's decided that she doesn't like the golf balls I had in "her" nest box so she kicked them out this morning before laying this beauty! It's about twice the size of the one she laid yesterday. I'm hoping she'll continue on her One-A-Day trend she's on right now.

I'm jealous!!! I got my first egg a few days ago. It was laid sometime between Wednesday morning - Thursday late afternoon (I found it at 5pm). Nothing since! :(

My hens just turned 18 weeks on Wednesday. A few of them have bright red combs and wattles. Nest boxes are up and oyster shell is available free choice.... now, I'm going to have to sit on my hands. It's so hard to wait!

We have 4 Buff Orpingtons (I think one of these will be my first)
3 Silver laced Wyandotte
3 Speckled Sussex
3 Easter Eggers
And 3 black copper marans

C'mon ladies!

@lizdelc - I'm waiting too! Mine are 15 weeks and I know as it's getting darker I may have a LONG wait.... one of them recently tossed all of the hay out of the nest boxes and I had to put a bigger lip on them and yesterday I found that someone had taken the hay that was mixed with the bedding outside the nest boxes and made a perfectly round little shape - so I'm hoping that was a practice nest and it'll come sooner than later- I also hope I didn't make the new lip so high that the gals aren't able to get into the nest boxes anymore!
