Strange tasting eggs

My 3&1/2 RIR still lays a small, usually not quite oval egg 4-5 days a week. The shells are very fragile even though she eats oyster, eggshells & fermented feed. My biggest issue is that the yolk has a "strange" taste (not from foods, as my other eggs are fine) and the albumen is partly runny / partly thick & globular. She is a happy, healthy hen who eats and poops normally. No external parasites and no signs of internal. Her eggs have been like this for several months. Any thoughts?

Maybe it's just age related. I know as ladies age, the eggs become not as viable and you end up with a lot more deformities and miscarriages. This is a prime example.

If you are planning to let her live happily ever after, I would just feed THOSE eggs back to the chickens. For me personally, I would cull and replace. 4 to 5 days a week is still a good amount of laying though and feeding them to your flock shouldn't hurt anything. Maybe boost your protein a little, that's a good thing.

Good luck!
