Ok, so I have a 9 1/2 week old pullet and 2 cockerels, all Cochin crosses. I hadn't planned on keeping the cockerels so hadn't named them. It looks like they'll both be here till at least spring now, so I'd like some help naming them! The pullet is named Princess. I got some crappy pics of them this morning while eating their scratch, they won't stay still at all.

If you name them it could be even harder to get rid of in the spring. But that’s your business.

Name them after your grandfathers.

Did you have any favorite male teachers, coaches, or role models of some sort?

There is all kinds of royalty or national leaders out there.

Are you familiar with any Norse, Egyptian, Greek, or Roman gods?

Would Diablo and Satan be appropriate?

How about Stew and Drumstick? It might make it easier to get rid of them.

The world of entertainment is filled with men that have names. Do you like or maybe not like some of them?

Or come up with something totally different. You are limited only by your imagination.

Thinking about Duke for the dominant, clean legged cockerel and Jester for the feather legged.

Those names sound great! My first two Cockerels were named Chuckles and Joker because of the sounds they made in the morning when I let them out. It sounded like they were laughing. Sometimes they just tell you what their names are.

Thanks! Sometimes it just takes a little while to figure out a suitable name!

Yes! Usually it takes a while for me to name my girls, but some of them just come to me and I think of a name in seconds, they just fit it so well. Other take a while. But they all eventually let you know their name. Sometimes I'll name one something and then realize it doesn't fit that so I'll have to change it! Haha

I do that too, try out a name and sometimes change it.

For ideas for some regal names in case you haven't made a choice I thought of: Dominic, Sir Lancelot, Sir Roland, and Charming. hehe, they look like pretty regal little chickens.

Very cute! I call them "Little and her royal family" haha!
