Copper Maran Crosses? Gender help.

Picked up two chicks from a woman who runs a bunch of maran colors together. So most likely these birds are both EEs of some kind. I picked them up hoping their Roos. But I'm not so sure one is. Please help.

The one chick has a yellow spot on its head. The other is all black on top.
 
Look to be cockerels to me with that much comb at this young age. If the breeders were all Marans the chicks won't be Easter Eggers.

Agree. Not sure why you said they'd be EE?

If you knew the colors available you'd be able to tell if the bird with the white head spot is a sex link or not.
