We have lost one of our own, RIP @Dylansmom

Very sad. Mindy will be missed! I too remember her reference to the Violettas which she loved so dearly as well as her Spauldings. Didn't she build a special winterized pen for her high percentage male to keep him happy thru the PA winters?

Dear Mindy, may you fly free with the angels!

Oh Mindy. It saddens me to hear that you are no longer with us, but I'm sure you're happily in heaven with all the Peas of the past watching over all of us.

R.I.P. dear Mindy. We all thank you for being a great friend and mommy to the peas, and we also thank you for everything you have done and shared with the BYC and Peafowl community.

I just heard the tragic news re Mindy We are devastated and heartbroken. My husband and I had the privilege of meeting her 2 years ago when we both had pea chicks hatch late September, not as common for peachicks. Over the following few months she offered me her peahen to court my little peacock when we both found out mine was male and hers female through a simple DNA test. She taught me all I know and I will keep ALL her lengthy emails and posts that I still reference over and over. I was so excited to tell her the news that her little "Jackie" - my peacock is Ari

- started laying her first eggs in early Feb. I thought "wow" , that was early and I couldn't wait to tell Mindy the news. I never imagined she would lose her life so early and in all our discussions, she would quickly move past her illness and onto to our peafowl discussions to help us. My deepest sympathy to her husband, son and family.
Mindy, I am forever greatfull for having met you. You were a mentor to us all. Although always beautiful , your pictures did no justice to your magnificent peafowl, your outdoor coops, your indoor (spotless) barns. I know you are still reading these posts , even my silly questions which you never thought were silly. Fly high Mindy. RIP, you will truly be missed.
Jackie and Ari will miss you too

Thank you ..

I have not been on much and I am sorry to hear this she was very helpful. I see that she wasn't online for quite a few months before her passing. RIP Ma'am.

people, ....i've been out of the loop for a while (not that i've ever been 'in it' for that matter...lol) and regret not having to get to know Mindy (or many of you) better...life is so much more fragile than we tend to realize...peas are a common link here for EVERYONE that ever clicks into the 'pea' forum... our differences will always be there --- please let it go ...EMBRACE the common thread and be there for each other, like Mindy was....for me, her death is a wake up call to try and have gentler words for strangers and to be a more decent human being....she passed WAY too young --- i hope at the very least, we can benefit from her kindness.... my heart goes out to her family
