(Sorry it took me so long to reply!)
~Ash took the bucket with a grateful grin. "And, no, I've never had bacon," she replied, unable to ward off this man's contagious upbeat manner. "Is it better than raw meat?" She entwined a lock of hair around her finger in abrupt embarrassment. "I'll bet anything tastes better than raw meat as a human." She trailed along after him, bucket in hand, as he led the way along to a building that radiated the pungent scent of fowl- a scent even obvious to human nostrils.~
"Now don't get excited when they do, keep it calm. it just makes them nervous and you bloodthirsty. Don't think I didn't have them thoughts now too. It's a fine line we walkin'. I've been trying to take the best of both natures to improve my life, and if ya wanna stay, I'll expect you to do it too." Greymane poured the water into a trough, and the feed into a hopper. He gestured for her to do the same, as the curious chickens cackled and brushed up against their legs, eagerly anticipating food. They were a bit leery of the girl, but swarmed Greymane as he reached down to stroke an old hen.
~Ash bit down on her lip hard as the chickens swarmed around Greymane, some even seeming to enjoy his presence. How was it that, even as a human, she had this overwhelming desire to kill these fat little birds? She shook her veiling hair out of her face as she bent over to tip the bucket. How does Greymane treat them so coolly controlled?
Hands trembling, she tipped her bucket of feed into the metal hopper. She stepped back as the chickens flocked all over the feeder like buzzards swarming over a kill, a mixture of hushed wonder and temptation resting on her. A small grin crossed her pale lips. She could grow to like these little birds.~
