Mug Rug Swap and Project Challenge

Pics
Sewcluck, just hang around with us and Kat will have you swapping your socks off! And if no one has told you, the quilt police are banned from these swaps- we just do them for fun, not to win prizes.

Aww, thanks fenrosie! Tomorrow, I'll take a picture of the very first quilt I made. It was for my son when he was a baby. He now uses it as a "rug" by his bed. He's only 3 and is very fond of it. He likes to sit on it for night-night storytime.

I enjoy making both. I like making clothes bc the end result is usually achieved faster than a quilt. However, like you a quilt will last much longer. I don't have a long arm and so I have yet to make anything bigger than a "toddler" sized quilt. I have 3 little ones 5, 3 and 1. My sewing time is very limited, non-existent mostly. Haha. I'd like to make a mini quilt for my older 2 and place them on the walls over their beds. I am afraid of placing anything that could fall and hurt them during an earthquake. We live in CA. A quilt is safe.

I look forward to learning more from everyone. I love swaps, but they are hard to find. In the last 3 years I've done a scarf and mini quilt swap. They're lots of fun!
I made all of my children's clothes when they were little. You do have your hands full. So are they boys/girls? We have a couple of ladies from CA. We just have fun, encourage and help and learn from each other, just so happens this Mug Rug Swap with project challenge I decided to try and give an extra incentive to help get some of the projects almost done. I have so many it's not even funny but getting a start and more keep coming in.

Their birthdays are this summer. I need to get started now if I want to finish by then.

I wish I could make all my kids clothes, but I just don't have time. We homeschool and they don't nap. :/

I make things here and there. I don't like buying clothes for myself bc I look at the price tag and I realize how much frabic I can buy instead!! Haha! So I buy fabric, but don't have time to sew anything. Hahaha. I am on a mission to find more time. I need to get mote organized....or just organized, really....haha.

You have the same spacing as my girls. Yes you are VERY busy I know.

Very busy indeed, but loads of fun. This morning we were in the backyard planting a "Chicken Garden" for our mixed flock. We bought a variety of seeds specifically for our girls (and possible boys). We are currently learning about seeds and plants and so it tied in very well with out science lessons for this week. The chicks were able to free range for the whole 2.5 hours we were out there. So fun! I have yet to take a picture of my son's quilt. I hope to remember to do it today.

I would like to sign up for the mug rug swap. Is it too late?
Looks like your right on time!!! Welcome

We are taking a short break from our block swaps to catch up on unfinished projects, but after we will have blocks swaps so stay tuned!!! Instructions are in the first post, and where in the world are you?

I'm in Blanchard, Oklahoma
I've been quilting for over 30 years, but I've never made a mug rug. This should be fun!
