We've all seen the dramatic and sprawling images of beautiful mountains, sweeping plains, sunset beaches, or perhaps frozen winter wastelands that are the staples of landscape photography. Drawing inspiration from Ansel Adams, we want to see your best landscape photos. With a twist. We want them in Black and White.
Show us your best black and white landscape images and win a prize. Your entry can be in one of the following categories:
- Single image
- DLSR/Mirrorless Panoramic (or actual film!)
- Cell phone panoramic

Rules (and there are a bunch, so be sure you read and understand them to enter.)
- Color to Black and white conversion is absolutely acceptable.
- Four entries per member.
- ONE completed image per entry. Multiple image posts will be disqualified. Please include the category you are entering (see above).
- Single image
- DLSR/Mirrorless Panoramic (or actual film!)
- Cell phone panoramic
- LANDSCAPE FORMAT ONLY.Images submitted in portrait format will be disqualified.
- Taking a series of images in portrait mode and then combining them together for a landscape panoramic is acceptable for the panoramic categories.
- No color toning (such as sepiatone), Pure B/W captures or straight B/W conversions only.
- Images need to be a MINIMUM of 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels tall or they will be disqualified.
- No screenshots. No watermarks. No date stamping or text of any kind. No collages.
- Submit your original images only. (need to have been taken by you)
- Cropping, spot removal, and simple lighting/toning editing permitted. No Layering or compositing of images (except for stitching). Ansel was big on "this is exactly what came off the film plate", so try to minimize the amount you touch your shot.
- You cannot use a photo that won an award in another BYC-sponsored contest.
- ALL photos MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
- Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.

- Entries will be accepted until June 30th, 2023, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
