2 Chickens have vanished

Hello everyone, I was wondering if taking chicks from a mother hen will eventuakky make her go "crazy"? I took my hens chicks b cause she free ranges and they end up drowning in puddles or bowls or really anything they can fall in, well when I went out there this morning she was nowhere to be found. She wouldn't have made a new nest already an is sitting right? Thanks guys.
 
In my experience, removing chicks from a hen does cause stress, but only for a couple of days, and then things go back to normal. I would not imagine that she has gone broody again if its only been a short time since removing the chicks.
