Found Muscovy's need home-CA

@shiningeyes, if you can't find close by person to take these ducks, can you find out how much it would cost to ship them? I had a few minutes to talk to MY post office, and they are kind of uselss there, spent a lot of time telling me it couldn't be done, yet I persisted, and they said they needed weights and and a precise box size. So, information I don't have. Anyway. Work has been sporadic with long and a lot of stress and making me sad and tired. If I can use the money to do something nice it would make it worth it.
My thinking is it would be better for the ducks to be stressed during shipping to get to a happy home than sent to a probably overwhelmed rescue.

If I can't find a person locally I will do that. I'd obviously prefer not to ship them due to unnecessary stress but thanks to the folks here on BYC I have a couple leads to follow up on! I'll let you know if they don't work out. I appreciate you wanting to give them a home even so far away!

@misslydia, I was frantically looking for information, now I don't know where I saw it. The USPS doesn't say either, so maybe someone else would know?

Of course! Shipping is never the best option, but it's on the table in case no other options present themselves/workout. Let me know either way, so I can save money from the check I'll get on Monday for it. Good luck! :)

I'm sure! Just a ballpark figure would be good. When I have some time tonight, I'm going to see what I can find out on hatchery pages to have some idea. I'm thinking it's pretty expensive...
What would be great is a rescue railroad with people just driving the ducks for a few hours and handing them off to the next driver....but the coordination for that would be crazy.

How could I not take them?! Muscovies! :D

True I love my scovy's..

Wouldn't that be nice they have them for rescued dogs so it would be nice if they also had it for poultry.

Im in Southern California, an hour from LA, but don't know how to get the ducks down here. I adopted my muscovy from the Pasadena humane society - maybe you could take them a (no-kill) shelter to help find them a home?
PS. I just read more of this thread and it sounds like you have possibilities for them already. Sorry, I missed page 2. Come back to me if you need me. I could take them if we figure out how to get them here :)

Thank you duckieduck! I do have some things in the works so I hope to have them a home soon. I am grateful to have the backup options from others on here in case it doesn't work out.
