Topic of the Week - Adding New Chickens to the Flock

Pics
Hi, I have 4 eightish week old bantam chicks. They have just been successfully transferred to their coop outside. 1 is definitely a rooster, and I suspect that our silkie is too. That leaves two hens. B/c we will probably have to re-home our roosters due to being in town, I picked up two bantam chicks yesterday from Tractor Supply. I hope these are pullets.

Anyway, this is my question. Alot of the flock integration Info is about integrating chicks with older chickens. Do you generally have trouble integrating 3-5 week old chicks with 12 week old chicks? Could I let them free range together daily while I sit with them on warm days, and let that be enough before I put them in the coop together? As long as I don't see any issues, of course.

Can be the same as any other integration, especially with the ages you have.
I would not free range 5wo chicks.

Ok, thank you.
I guess free range was not the right term. I meant just let them be outside on a warm day with the bigger chicks to see how they got along, and do that for a little while before cooping them together.
