YO GEORGIANS! :)

Hey Noobie farmer, I love your coop, it's awesome!

Thanks, man. It was quite a bit of work but I had a little help and we did it early in the spring when it was nice and cool in the afternoons.

My neighbor turned some of his young chickens loose to free range and they come over to our yard which is fine with us I just wanted to know the breed of this one little chicken. They said I could keep it if I wanted it but I would like to know about the breed. When I asked the neighbor he just says "well I got some game chickens, Easter Eggers, Ameraucanas, Reds and all". Hmm... He has a large incubator that holds like 500 eggs and gets eggs from different places so I'm not sure he even knows. The chicken has black on its tail and around it's neck like a Delaware but has blue colored feet. Let me know what you think and if I should post somewhere else on here. Thanks!

This little one is waiting for some others to hatch! It is so hard not to pull him out and count his toes! LOL We are trying to get sizzles. But by the numbers those are very hard to breed for. They have to have black skin like silkies and 5 toes and they need to have hard feathers that frizzle. (Will know in a few weeks!) First step to look for though is the skin and toes! LOL

Um... is he supposed to have that bump on his head?

LOL! Oh, a Sizzle is a cross between a Silkie and a Frizzle. I had to look it up. Cool! I think the Silkie chicks had a bit of a cone head when they hatched. I want to see a picture of it dried out too please. Will keep looking back to see updates. :)

Lol, the "bump" on the chick's head is telling you it will have a crest:) As for the post on what breed the neighbor's chicken is in the pic- looks just like my EEs. By researching for the sex of EEs the majority of folks think the white with black tend to be cockerels but I have a cockerel and a pullet of that coloration. I believe the blue legs give it away as an EE. Love the third pic down by the way!

I have no idea about that beautiful chicken! I thought green legs are EE but I don't see the a thick neck like with EEs. The blue legs make me think Amerucana but again.... no thick neck. Soooo confused. Hopefully one of the experts will have an idea! @RoboDuck any ideas on what that chicken is in Valleychicks photos? Also post your photos in the "what is this breed" part of the forum?

Will post more photos when chick gets dry and others hatch. I know it came out of a sizzle egg at least!

Do I start a new thread from the "what is this breed" forum? I've gotten fussed at for asking questions on other forums before. I was told I "butted in". I didn't know that I was butting in or anything so I don't want to make that mistake again.

Hover over "Forum" at the top of this page, then hover over "Chicken Breeds" then click on "What Breed or Gender is This?". You will see a blue box that says, "Start New Thread", just click on that and you are set. Beware, there are plenty of "Chicken Snobs" on other threads.

I have a Buckeye Roo that started "trying to crow" this morning and I have a Blue and a White Silkie Roo. Not keeping the white Silkie roo though if anyone wants him let me know. The white Silkie hens I have are siblings to the white Silkie roo. I guess an EE roo would be ok. I think it must be about 8 weeks old or an older bantam breed. It is the size of my Silkies and my larger breeds they are al nearly 11 weeks old.

I have another question. Is it ok to keep the Silkies with the other breeds or should they be kept separate?
