polish chickens - sex question

yep Becky and Polish princess are both right, no question or depate needed, 2 gold laced polish roo, 1 wc black polish roo and a pair maybe 2 hens mottled houdan top pic is a little iffy, bottom definatelt hen....
 
Oh you are right, I should have looked better. The top houdan is definitely iffy. We need a better pic, that one might be a roo.

Although Polish are hard to sex, males will usually get red in the face (grow combs/wattles) early. Hens don't tend to show this redness until they are close to laying time. The crests are another way to tell. Males will usually have crests that are 'flung back', and the feathering will be long and strandy, shiny streamers (try saying that 5 times faster). The males will look like they have dread-locks, at least when they have matured. Females have big poofy afros.

That said, you CANNOT sex chicks. The best bet you have is starting to look into genders when they are roughly 2-3 months old. Even then, it can be hard to tell. G'luck.
 
I have a Bantam frizzle cuckoo polish roo, and a Bantam white crested black polish hen that i planned on breeding this spring and i wanted to know what colors i would get and if anyone would be interested in buying them, I live in columbiaville michigan and it would be pick-up only.
