Do Male Ducks Sit on nest? w/Pic

I have 5 ducks 3 female and 2 male the nest is shared by my females and my one male is sitting on the eggs as we speak and the other guards it occasionally when the girls are busy

Drakes won't sit on the eggs. I don't know if Pekins are an exception or not. My feeling is that you may have two females.

I have 4 ducks, 3 are drakes and we are hoping to remedy the situation with these eggs our Pekin (Goldie) has laid. Our drakes are a Mallard (Half-pint), Khaki Campbell (Chocolate) and Cayuga (Midnight). I decided to place my granddaughter’s video camera from her baby monitor in the house on a tripod tonight to see if Goldie had been sitting on the eggs at night; so far she’s laid 20 eggs but 4 of them she clearly did not want, and has 16 in her little doggie bed (aka nest). I was curious if she was sitting on them at night, cuz I would remove the nest from the house, and place it in her favorite corner of the yard, hoping to encourage her to start laying on them. Lo’ and behold to my surprise, she wasn’t the one laying on the rather it was the Mallard, who’s also the smallest of the bunch. I know this post was a long time ago but I wanted to show absolute proof of a drakes sitting on the eggs lol. The first one of 3 of them in the pool is so you know it’s a Drake and can see his drake feathers.

I've been searching the internet if a male Pekin duck sits on eggs. I was curious as I saw my 2 Pekin duck mated several times, but I was surprised when the female duck sits on her eggs, the male duck sits too! Unfortunately, the nest he sits on belongs to a female Muscovy black duck, which nest is adjacent to the female Pekin duck's. Poor Muscovy black duck is deprived of her own eggs. The supposed-to-be male Pekin duck, "the drake", now sits on them.

Just because they mated doesn't necessarily mean one is a drake, unless you saw his appendage. Female ducks will mate eachother with no drakes around.

my khaki boy was trying to sit on eggs the other day lol, he also gets mad when i take them away even though the girls don’t care about the eggs at all (here’s some pics of him, he’s definitely a drake)
