that I quit smoking. Been on the Chantix for 8 days now and tomorrow is the day that the drug company recommends I put the smokes down for good. Got everything I need to keep from killing someone I think...a 4lb box of licorice, enough hard candies to sink a battleship, a giant tray of finger foods, and oh yeah, all the guns are locked up just in case the substitutes don't work.

Good Luck ,
I did it to on Day 8 with the Chantix. I went back to it 3 months later ( stupid I know ) Hang Strong you can do it. The Chantix really helps. My doctor told me I could use this med for as long as 6 months if I needed to. So I am wishing you the best

Good luck in quitting, I know it's not easy. I quit 33 1/2 years ago. Went cold turkey from 2+ packs a day to zero. I wish my sons would quit. The older one has quit and started up again several times. I'm hoping that the younger one will soon since he's in a much happier place in his life than he was for a long time. Stay strong...it's worth it in the end! If nothing else think how many new coops you can build with the money you'll save!!!!

I got 7 1/2 yrs under my belt. My best advice is to remember that this is mostly in your head. I had no effects at all and i had smoked for 20 yrs about a pk and 1/2 a day. I also think the Nic gum really burns your throat and that was my crutch...so i tossed that and used my will power. If you truly want to quit....you can do it. When Cristina said she went back....it was because she was not ready.......she will get there too. If you are the competitive type like i am.....you can turn it into a challenge.....you against the butt. I wish you all the will power in the world for this......GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I never smoked but for the longest time my mother and step father did - till my mom had to go into the hospital and was not able to have a smoke - she quit cold turkey and never went back - it wasn't till later that she started hiding my step-dads packs so he could not smoke he finally got the hint and stopped , but he did not stop soon enough he still has that smokers cough in the morning - but they are both alot happier without the butts !!

Good luck - if you quit you can use that money to buy more babies this spring LOL
