Wizbang Chicken Plucker

okay so how does that work? you hold the chicken up and turn that on? or put chicken in a bucket and uyse the drill like stirring paint? does it work? can you explain it to me?

Its called a table plucker. See how the drill is attached. You turn it on, run the chicken against the direction of the flailing rubber fingers. It pulls the feathers out.

I just installed the fingers on mine this weekend. After the first couple, I knew I needed to do something to make it easier, so I soaked them in warm, soapy water. Way, way easier.

thanks for sharing it

Great for a few birds, but on a large scale it is not practical. About 3-4 minutes a bird to pluck and do a good job. I'll be renting a Featherman from the local conservation district when it comes time to butcher my batch of 25.

i only have a few so it would work better than my fingers for sure. thaks again. of course i want more so i will look into bigger stuff down the line

Hello,
My name is Dina, I' from Madagascar, and I would also make a chicken plucker one. I have all the parts necessary for the achievement and I would like to have more picture of your achievement if possible. Laying above the fingers, the distance between them, the number of fingers required.

Good to you,
Dina

Me and my son just finished making our wizbang plucker. we build it for a fair project. We had fun building it.
It cost us around $600.00. This may sound a lot, but we went all out and used high quality parts. We did buy the kit from wizbang. That way we used all the instructions and measurements out of the wizbang instruction manual. Compare this to a commercial unit and 600 dollars is cheap.
For instance, after getting shocked several times, i installed a GFI protected electrical plug on the unit that cost $60.00. The manual talks about this. I thought, Believe me , 60 bucks is well spend. Water and electricity do not go together.
I will make some pictures and post them.
Matt

I'm Benas from Antananarivo, I've built a whizbang chicken plucker with informations I've collected from Internet, but it will be very helpfull if you can send your scanned version of the book by Kimball, many thanks

I have been looking at building a "whiz bang" chicken plucker , some articles that I have read suggest that a mechanical plucker tend to make the meat tougher over the hand plucking method. Has anyone that has one of these pluckers notice this ?
