What do you love about where you live?

I love the quiet! Mostly, the only sounds I hear are chickens, roos, horses, goats, donkey's, mules. I still get to listen to cars and trucks going past our house, but it's neighbors, carpenters(it seems that there are a couple of houses being built all the time) delivery trucks(ups, fedex, hay, lumber, etc.)
But we don't hear ANY rap!

I love our view, it is soo very hard to do chores, every window you pass, you just HAVE to stop and look out for a while. DH can't work at home anymore, the view from our office window is gorgeous! Our sunrises are awesome!

It takes 15min. to get to our town of 2,000. 4o min. to get to the nearest city.

After we moved here I started getting less migrains and my degenerating discs in my neck bother me less. I think it's from less stress and tension, I absolutely HATE the city!

I love that I'm 10 (45mins from the biggest) miles away from the second largest "city" but I can still stars at night.

I love the fall, spring and summer, not too hot, not too cold. I don't think I could live anywhere where the seasons don't change.

I love the low crime rate and you can feel pretty safe.

I love that we have both mountains and ocean.

I love that I can go out to my local store (or most anywhere) without getting all dolled up and people don't look at you strangely.

Unlike most people here, I live split in the middle of a great big city and 15 mins from NYC. I have never seen stars shining bright like I have once when I was out in the country. I like having chickens and pets but that is about it. There are barely any rarer wildlife here. Only crows and squirrels.

No wolves, bears, coyotes, etc. I mean it is a little easier to take care of the chickens knowing that there aren't too many predators. But I would really love to experience real nature. I hate it here but I can't do anything, I'm only 13.

I love the fact for the most part the winters are mild ( heck its jan and its 63 today )

I love the hot weather in the summer plenty of sunshine

I love my neighborhood - every morning you hear about half a dozen roosters, a few donkeys, some goats all saying good morning and every once in awhile someone will ride a horse by !

I love the small town feeling we have here - but we are getting some of the big town stores

I love that there is a feed store/ TS just down the road.

I'm glad that we don't have chain stores in our little town. We do have the fastfood places in the gas stations by the highway, but that's it.

I love our schools! I will always have problems with public education, but the schools here are sooo much better than where we moved from.

I love watching horses ride by, one day we will have some.
I love that we DON"T have a starbucks here!
We have a handful of little restarauntsin town, the ones we have tried are very good. I have to admit though that we usually go to this one mexican place or pizza. We keep meaning to go to the others, that will be our goal for this year, to try all of the different eating establishments in town.

Remember this, you will grow up, and then you can make your dreams come true, if that is what you still want. I grew up on a farm and couldn't WAIT to move to town. It has taken a long time-- 40 odd years, and alot of wrong turns, but I finally made it back to a place that I should have been all along. Never let go of your dreams....

*October. The most lovely month of the year, with achingly beautiful, clear blue skies, colorful leaves, and pleasant temps. [I got married in October...wonder why.

*Public transit. I love not having to drive everywhere.

*Fabulous restaurants minutes away.

*Being able to pick up just about ANY type of ethnic cooking ingredient nearby.

*Nice neighbors.
