Why are they undesirable in Brahmas?

Well, the US breed standard... I believe their a disqualifier. If you're breeding to standard. Just like Cochins... their undesirable with them too.

So it just means it is not a pure breed? I see. I don't mind, I like them. So maybe the vulture hocks will help to find what mix is the chick then?
Not necessarily I don’t think. It’s just how it was bred if it’s a Brahma. I know brahmas started out originally mixing 2 birds...but that trait is just unwanted for a breeder who is trying to keep the heritage breed or “original.” Or breeders breed for poultry shows etc. it would be considered disqualified or loss of points so to speak

Thank you. I am posting fresh pictures of my Brahma. As a start I only sow pictures of white Brahmas on the Internet. I was not able to find any pictures of this colouring, it looks like Buff but I am not sure. As you can see, she has a pea comb and even though it is 3-rawed, it is very small, that's why I think it is a 'she'. 5 weeks now. As for the vulture hocks, well, I like them

it seems to be missing the black on neck for buff Brahma I’ll post a pic from google...it says 6 weeks old but notice the black?Attachments

You are right, no black on the neck yet. Hopefully it will appear later.

It doesn't work that way. They have it or they don't. Muff brahmas get it in with their first feathers.
eta: here's my old buff when she was 6 weeks old, along with her light brahma 'sisters'.

Oh ok, thank you, I didn't know they should have it from hatch. So mine is just not pure breed, that's ok, she is very sweet and docile, really cold hardy and quiet. At what age did yours start laying eggs?
