It depends on where you live and whether or not you can provide them with a warming light if they get too chilled. If your night time temps are still getting below 50 then a warming light should be used until they are at least three months old.

The thing to remember is that your house does not get as cool at night as the coop so even though they no longer need the light in the house they might need it in the coop, especially at night because of that difference. I've kept chicks in the house that hatched in December until March because of the problem with acclimating to the warmer house temps.

The one thing that will tell you if they need it is the distressed crying they do when in the coop.

Back from vacation and that is a great picture of Vegas!!!! How handsome he is!!! The only good thing about giving him up is that you got him!!!!

Thanks Sunshine!! I'm so glad I got him. Thank you so much for letting me make him part of our family. He is fantastic, and he is sweet too! I am using his picture for our T-shirts!
