its something that happens, you just have to do your best to breed it out of them. I don't show, but I have heard or red somewhere that it is overlooked to an extent on hens.. maybe if its under 25%???? but im not sure... someone who shows them could give you better info.

I see lots of comments on dubbing. Is it required to dub them for shows? I have 25 tattoos and 5 ear piercings, but just can't stand the look of a dubbed roo. If it's a requirement, I guess I'll never show anything. Sebrights don't have to be dubbed, do they? I mean, I thought that squatty, fat, leadered comb was a requirement for the breed. Maybe just OEGB's have to be dubbed, if it's a requirement?

OH! And I've tattooed and own shops for decades, as well as been thru the Army Combat Medical Training, so I'm not squeamish, just don't care for they way it looks.

on OEGB cockerel birds don't need to be dubbed, rosters do. I believe its a disqualification if they aren't dubbed. im partial to the combs too, that's part of why I don't show. sebrites don't need to be dubbed.

I've got a question for you guys. I had a red pyle OEGB hen, and she was my favorite girl. She died unexpectedly over the winter, and I'm still not sure why. So, long story short, I got three OEGB chicks, two red pyle and one porcelain. I LOVE them, but one seems to be a roo. I have no problem keeping him - after all, he's tiny, cute, and friendly. My question, though, is how he'll do with my other two LF roosters. I've heard that game roos are really aggressive towards other roosters.

they will more than likely fight. if you want to breed, maybe build a 3'x3' pen and put him in. its plenty of room for him and a couple hens, easy to move to new grass etc.
