Flies no more!! Found the perfect fly repellent.

I noticed a decrease in flies when I hung mine. But, no one commented on if it would okay to refreshen mine with my candle fragrance? I am assuming the aresol Vanillaroma is also the same type of fragrance.

Can anyone with more experience than we have--7 yrs of chickens, besides that we both grew up with chickens, give us some advice?
We have a 2 month old chicken, one of 3 that we hatched, that is from a barred rock rooster and a hen who has a lot of feathers on her head and legs--one we bought from a neighbor.
This young chicken has a beautiful top knot of feathers but we just realized that the feathers are hanging down over her eyes so she is having trouble seeing. I realized this when I dropped some pieces of apple in their pen and she was having trouble finding any. We picked her up and I pulled the feathers up away from her eyes and her eyes look perfectly fine--just that the feathers hang down over the eyes. Should we trim a little of the feathers back away from the eyes? Will that be harmful to her eyes?

It's perfectly fine to clip the feathers away from her eyes and I would certainly recommend it.

I'm thinking of tying one to each ankle before I go out to feed.......maybe it will discourage the mosquito feeding frenzy.

I can almost hear them when they hear the back door opening, "Heads up guys.....we're having TAKE OUT tonight!!!!!"
