Lighter Fluid as humane euthanasia?

I'm speechless.

OMG. I missed that one earlier... yeah. speechless isn't the word for it. What the .... is more like it.

I know, but I dont do that very often, twice I remember doing. It was quick, like a blow to the head. You have to have a mental strength to do that. That is how my father did with the chicks back in his days but it will NOT work for big chickens or half grown, its useless and the bird will suffer. Only days old or a week old chick, you can do that quickly. Everyone has different methods of putting down a chick or bird quickly. It is up to you whether this treatment or another treatment is better for you. If you look at the old posts, there are some folks that would do this method. So it is one of the hundred and one ways of putting down a chick, a bird and other animals, it may be cruel but a quick death is preferred.

I did the broomstick method and thought the bird died. Nope, it was still alive. Having no knife, I took a brick at the head and ended it. It was quick.

I'd prefer the broomstick method, or a bullet (but not allowed in the city).

Galloping Goat, glad your hen is doing well. Hope for the best!

So true, it might be uglier to see a little blood but it would literally be over in a second. Ive have nasty cuts and injuries and I remember not feeling anything until 30 seconds to a minute later.
It might not be how you want to remember your pet going out but you will always have the consolation of knowing it didn't have time to feel a thing
Hope this helps
