TJ's Na-Na :

Hello to all the newbies on here !!!  And "hey y'all" to
all the oldies!!!  Computer has been down and just
now have had time to get it fixed.

Bill has done super with the knee replacement and is
doing stuff in therapy that he couldn't do before surgery.
TJ is doing fine and ready for school to be out.

He didn't get to do any showing last fall through all
the sick stuff with the chickens up here, but no
problem with our immediate area being covered
by one of our Junior BYC'ers.

Madison (Sooner's girl) has done a FANTASTIC job in our quad
county 4-H Poultry Shows !!!  She has much to be
proud of and we're sure proud of her.  TJ's sure
gonna have to kick it up a notch this fall.....LOL

Have a good one, all !

Wow! It has been a long, long time since you have been on. I hope TJ get's back to showing this season. Before you know it they are not juniors any more! I know Grace hasn't done anything since the county fair. One show was canceled by weather, one by the club and she wasn't even able to show at the Durant show because of other things already on the schedule. She is going to be selling out (at least for now) because she will be getting married in July and just has a lot of planning to do.
We do plan on making it to POOPS this weekend and I am looking forward to seeing everyone that can come. I know it is a long way for some but hopefully there will be a good turn out.
Keep in touch!

So good to hear from you - and to hear about Bill and TJ!  Maddie has been making us all proud, and we look forward to hearing that TJ is back showing chickens and winning.  I'm glad Bill is doing well - tell him to stay off the high steel.  I'm sure you have your hands full trying to keep everyone in line as usual.  hugs

woot

jcatblum - I am not sure if there was a POOPS schedule ever posted.  It starts at 8:00 - that's when people start showing up - although many will have put their chickens in the barn the night before.  Sooner (Carah) may have an idea of what time the food will be served.  The raffle and auction are usually after the main meal, but someone else may know if there's a timetable.  It's smart of you to drive separate vehicles - chicken time is important! (and I'll bet your DH ends up having fun).

My DH is making a side trip to the museum at Fort Sill if your DH or anyone else need a break from chicken time. He, Joe, knows alot about history and military stuff and will be a good "tour guide" for anyone.

Just a thought....How do you guys travel with your birds?

I have 1 small crate, 1 medium (could hold a few birds), and a wire cage ( for rabbits, use it for chicks). I have to travel with mine in the back of a trail blazer so i need to keep it clean. I guess lots of newspaper? any helpful tips when traveling with birds?

"The Staff is allowing another thread to start up. This will be the 3rd or 4th thread that has had to be closed because of rules violations. The old thread will remain closed because of the time and effort it would take to clean it up.
It is available for reference and will not be removed from the forum.

The Staff asks that instead of allowing issues to go on and on and instead of having warning issued from those with no authority or ability to actually moderate the thread, that the report button is used early on. This will allow clean up to be accomplished swiftly and cleanly without undue disruption of the thread. The

Thanks, Terrie

Thank You BYC Staff - we need this for POOPS + don't know what I'd do w/o Okies

No dramma needed, I have preteen girls, get enough dramma at home!

Oh well, glad we are able to continue an Okie thread since we need to be able to have a place to plan P.O.O.P.S!!!!!  And talk to local chicken adicts.

Very excited about next week. I originally planned on only getting 2 dz eggs. After talking to DH we might bring home a few young hens as well. Not too many, since we are not moving out to Cement until the 21st.And I would struggle having a place to put them until the move!

Would love to see a "schedule of events for P.O.O.P.S.   DH said he isn't staying the whole thing, but said he will come for a few. He said chickens are mine & DD thing. We will drive seperatly so he doesn't cramp my chicken time.
The move is on schedule as it can be. We have most rooms painted & DH is going to run a 220 for the kitchen stove (I didn't want to use a propane cooktop) & he is replacing the old duct work with insulated stuff!

Moving is such a headache, I feel like I am packing anytime I am not at work.  We are so ready to be out there full time!

I know about preeteen girls - I teach middle school! btw, I finally got my passworde and am on my school computer at lunch - the district blocks everything, must not know how cool poultry is......sssshhhhhhhhhh!
