Crock Pot Quail

Thread Starter

Crock pot ingredients:

2 cans of Campbells cream of mushroom soup
1 can of Campbells cream of chicken soup
1 pk. of Lipton Onion Soup and 3 Chicken Bouillon Cubes (mixed with 3 cups of water and heated for 2-3 minutes in microwave) and stirred after removed.  Add to heating crock pot.
Get all this mixed up and stirred in while frying quail
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I separated legs from breast, but it's not necessary.  (I used 8 jumbo Bobwhites).
    Pat dry with towel.
Season with salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning.
    Roll in self rising flour.
    Fry golden brown.
Put birds in crock pot, and smother in soup mix.
Cook on High for first hour
Cook 5-6 more hours on Low
Add water to get thinner "gravy" if desired.

By finishing off in the crock pot, the birds will be so moist and tender, the meat will almost fall off the bone when you get them out.  Enjoy droolin

d1:
most soups & boullion come in low-sodium varieties these days.

that sounds yummy - I may try it with Cornish from the grocery store as no quail here & my hens are pets big_smile

Well, to your point, it may not be healthy for some, but I'm very accustomed to having an extra BP pill as an appetizer.....and sometimes one as a dessert.......just so I can enjoy fine eating such as this.......lol

My kids grew up with this only it was usually chicken or pork chops.

Amazing how good it is and with a side of rice or mashed potatoes, heck any kind of potatoes and a veggie. It's just good.

I also add milk to it. Still add the water, but the milk makes it creamier.
