Large "Lump" on Hen's Chest

Thank you for the information. I have a bird that is VERY large in body size to the other ones and now molting so I thought maybe I could just see her chest more. And she is a pig. But it has been hard for days and now every morning she sits on a large branch in the coop area and seems to be isolating herself from the others. I now remember the olive oil in bread trick as I had done that months ago with another girl. I will try that again. I also make my own Kombucha and the birds LOVE the scoby that makes the Kombucha. If anyone does this, it's great to feed the birds as it also helps with their digestion system. Thanks again for always being my first google search :)

This helped me so much my four day old chick formed a lump on his right side and it worried me sick because I recently had a chick die from a cyst that looked similar... Such a relief

My chicken has a big hard crop also and she hasn't layed for about a month, she is only a year old. Does anyone know what is wrong with my hen?
Thanks
Cat

I have some baby chicks, about 2 weeks old who I adopted from YMCA who hatched them... They all have these lumps on their chests. I thought it was tumor, now I have no clue... I check in the morning on them and they have the lump still. What should I do?

Should I dip bread in olive oil and try to get them to eat it? It grosses me out to massage their lump not sure if I can do that haha

Wow, I'm so glad I came here too. In the group of chicks I hatched in May(cream legbars, copper marans, and easter eggers), several have a "bump" on their chest, below their head/neck to the right.

I have been seriously worried that they are all diseased with some type of tumor. I will check them in the morning, but I'm willing to bet that its their food crop! They are all squishy.

Phew!
