So this good news is bad news??

I would for sure go to a cardiologist! Another option is to call an ambulance as soon as you symptoms... it may be that you can get an answer when you're having an episode.

Don't take no for an answer! Keep seeking answers. Maybe it is your heart and maybe it isn't.... but your symptoms are nothing to fool around with!

My hubby had a Massive Heart Attack in January. Keep getting opinions, ask around find the best cardiologist in your area. This is not something to be taken lightly. His scared me so bad, I went and got checked out, luckily I am fine. But the symptoms you described are classic ones. Even though most will say women do not have the "classic" symptoms, I would still be raising cane until they figured it out.

Praying that things get better for you!

Agree with everyone about seeing a specialist. Also, someone mentioned menopause. Hormones can absolutely mess with blood pressure and cardiac function, so if nothing comes up cardiac, you might want to have your hormone levels checked.
Good luck - that's got to be a really scary feeling -

Thank you everyone for your replies.

The doctor who did the tests was a cardiologist, but you know how those testing centers go, I only really talked to techs who did the testing. I am perimenopausal which is a likely indicator for this, and chronically have a very high heart rate with low blood pressure.

I just wish I knew what tests I should be asking for!

Capvin, it sounds very like what I went through, perhaps since she is a nurse they took her seriously instead of dismissing her like they did me! But, when they did take me seriously they found nothing so I fear I have zero credibility now.

To "I Have What in My Yard"...sent you an e-mail regarding the issue and will discuss with my wife who will pass some suggestions on to you. You both are experiencing the same symptoms and so far, all docs have said not heart related. It has been very frustrating for us as we are sure it is for you.

Please find another doctor who will, if nothing else, keep a very close eye on your symptoms. Follow the earlier advice and keep a journal of what you are doing when you have these episodes. Why did the dr. give you nitroglycerin? Whatever this is, it is not normal.

Fourteen years ago, I had a similar situation that I blamed on a chest cold that would not break. Shortness of breath, pain under my shoulder blade and up my neck over a three day period of time, that like you I ignored and said couldn't be a heart attack! When I finally had the eyeopening classic arm pain associated with angina I was sure that I had been wrong. A trip to the ER for an EKG showed that I had a "significant cardiac event" and the next day I had a nuclear stress test. An hour after that I was on my way to Johns Hopkins for angioplasty where I got two stents. As it turns out, the arm pain was not the heart attack, but a sign that my heart was not getting oxygen because the other symptoms had caused damage.

My story could have had a very different ending! So, please, don't ignore cardiac symptoms or let the doctors blow you off.

I have an slight flutter to my heart. I get very dizzy, spotty vision and then right afterwards a rapid heart beat. I always say it feels like my heart just has a bit of a hicc up. Then it tried to catch up. I also have very low blood pressure. My heart rate usually is pretty great but after these it shoots way up. My doctor says she can hear it. I have had tons of tests. Its down to its a minor issue that causes me minor issues. I always get headaches afterwards and I get them more often it seems when I am stressed, not eating sufficiently, or dehydrated. Scares the living crap out of me and does cause me a good bit of anxiety. The doctor says as long as mine does not get worse we are fine. If it starts to get worse they have medicines for it. Its something to do with the hearts rythmn. anywho I hope you find out answers soon.
