Can or would chickens eat potato peelings? Mine are 12 weeks old and I'm peeling potatoes this morning.

No, don't feed them the raw peels. If you want, you can cook them first, then give them to the chickens. When you see the green when you are peeling potatoes, that is a toxin.

My chickens haven't noticed they've been eating toxins for years. I always toss my kitchen peelings/scraps to the chickens.

I have been feed chickens potato peels for years some green some not. Never had a problem.

I trust the 'treat' chart before I give the girls anything new. It states cooked potatos only. My neighbor gives his anything he won't eat. "They eat anything" he said, as he was dumping a 5 gallon bucket of mac and cheese in the yard.

Mine love the raw potato peelings, started with five still have five. Seem to be fine for my chickens
