Good morning Friends
appps those are some hot temps … I hope everyone copes OK.
I have found that my Frizzles seem to suffer from the heat more than the others. If anything, Cilla and Dusty, both black, appear to be the most heat tolerant.
Ouch locknest4 I hope you feel better soon. Hubby suffered badly from sinus infections to the point he ended up in hospital. It didn’t help that we were smokers but when he got out of hospital, we gave up.
Hey there Cryssie nice to meet you and welcome to the thread.
Bambrook Bantams spoiled? That got me to wondering how many people:
Plan and prepare what the girls are having for breakfast the night before.
Buy mixed leaf lettuce or vegetables just for the chickens.
On steak night, buy and cook a tiny little steak for the chickens.
On hamburger night, make and cook 4 x hamburgers, 3 adult sized ones and 1 bantam sized one to be broken up and shared.
If the chickens can eat what we are having, cook extra just for them or if it is not something they can have, ensure that they have their own special breakfast.
Ensure that they never have the same breakfast two days in a row.
Always carve extra off the roast for the gals.
Buy eggs to scramble and feed to the chickens when they are not laying.
Ensure Saturday and Sunday lunch is chicken friendly and shared.
Hhhhm, Anniebee, I believe the gals may just be checked into the Penthouse Suite
Thank you for your post .. I do not feel so loopy now either and YES! sore hands here also from scissors!
I occasionally chop up a sausage for the gals; in fact, I have some cooked in the freezer as an emergency if I have nothing else to give them. I have only given them a very small amount of ham, maybe one or twice, due to the salt content and yep, no kabana etc.
satay, live meal worms are a huge hit here and every afternoon hubby sits with the gals and shares some out. The meal worms live in a blue ice cream container .. if anyone comes into our yard with a blue ice cream container they will have 6 x new BFF’s
My new BFF next to a 1 litre milk carton to give you an idea of size .. cute and effective
