Organic Egg Certification: Not Worth It

So what about telephone poles next to farm, and is (DE) a acceptable former and pesticide for organic? And what constitutes treated, kiln dried lumber can be considered treated, and green lumber makes for a unacceptable pen, so metal cages are more organic? Really hoping for farmers market egg sales? Kind of dissapointing

well many i mean many local codes demand treated lumber with any contact with any concrete foundation and in support walls or any trusses that extend beyond the outside wall ect ect ect....i was a builder since 1980 and went thru this....so where do you live that they dont have to use treated lumber for those instances??/ or do you just think this?? i do agree that you shouldnt eat it or maybe use common sense...some people need govt to tell them what common sense is ....not being argumentative either just the facts.... jeff

that isn't true.  the chemicals leak during normal circumstances - - like rain.  it contaminates everything around it.  i am aware of the progressive, new age treatment of lumber, but most mass producing companies use the harsh chemicals.  that is a fact.

i'm not trying to be argumenatitve, but to share information.  treated lumber is dangerous.  to drive the point home:  your house isn't built with treated lumber.  i do not know of a single home built with treated lumber.  not one.  and there's a reason for that.

to your point - - it's totally more convenient and makes things, work wise, easier on people.  but that doesn't mean it's better.  and it certainly doesn't mean it's not dangerous.

"x2 Organic in the grocery store only means they are fed a different feed. They are still in cages."

Organic means they are living a healthier life. At least it is better then conventional! I have visited conventional farms, and you would not believe the stress etc. that these animals had to go through. One farm had pigs so close together that some were climbing over one another. PIGS! Another was having his ear chewed off by another pig. These animals are NOT always raised humanely! It is unbelievable... I hope you look into what happens if it's not certified organic. It could be like others have said: to costly for certification etc... But I know that unless I know the people and the owners, I will Never eat conventional foods. It is like eating poison!
I really do hope you become more conscious of what is happening in the real world. (Not to sound that sarcastic.)

"Imma just sell mine as "All Natural" ~seems legit"

It may sound that way, but what about when people ask you why you are not certified organic? Because your not reaching the requirements.

Organic means no chemicals; pesticides: Insecticides, Herbicides, Rodenticides, Bactericides, Fungicides, and Larvicides.

Just look at the Department of Health.

Getting certified lets people know what is behind the scenes. Like to pressure treated wood. (Which contains a BUNCH of chemicals!)
