All i will say on the matter is dont do it we tried it with a bad outcome for our whole flock... i wont slander them but i wont buy from them ever again. thats all i will say on the matter

again im not trying to slander them, the birds we bought from them could have been just a fluke and might never happen again, that is just our luck, but once bitten.

Were they bad quality birds or were they sick? More info Please...you can PM me if you would rather not post on here.

yes I would also like to know what was wrong with the chicks you got from Poultry Hollow Hatchery....I am planing on buying some in a week or so.

Yes, I to would like to know? We DO NOT sell sick birds and if something happens when they leave our farm then it is human error in broodingthe chicks. We have had people cook chicks from being to hot and also kill them by being too cold thinking they don't need heat. We always offer to help with any questions on raising poultry but not always listened to.
We are inspected and tested and have never had a disease of any kind in over 24 years. So like I said, I would like to know what happened?
Doesn't matter where you buy chicks when they can all get sick if not taken care of. That is why we offer help to all that needs it.

Yes sometimes I think it is human error because people buy cute little chicks and then dont know how to care for them or what to do when they get big and "not cute" but I also think sometimes it is the hatcheries that have disease filled birds and spread it to their chicks...I am not saying that poultry hollow has disease filled birds but I think sometimes it can be the hatcheries fault for lost birds.

I agree it depends on the hatchery. Small ones that don't keep things clean and disinfect, have a biosecurity in place and that are inspected regularly could have issues. Farms that continually buy and sell birds bringing them on the farm has a big chance of disease breakout.
Like I mentioned before, it is a good thing that these are none of our practices. We clean, disinfect, do not buy birds nor do we bring any on the farm, and we are inspected by the USDA & NPIP
Not to say we don't loose birds as anyone who raises them knows there are unfortunately deaths in young birds though very few, it does happen. Is it a disease? NO, not here. When they leave here? Could be, we cannot be responsible for the care when they leave. We have some calls from people that have lost chicks and we always try to figure out what happened. 99% of the time we figure out it is human error. Something they have done or not done to cause the problem. High heat, low heat, cold draft, wrong feed, dropped, handled too much, poopy butt, impaction, eating metal, and many more. Chicken disease is not as bad as people believe, they should talk to the state vet who will tell them disease is uncommon cause of deaths. If disease is susspected to have caused a death I encourage people to send the bird in for autopsy to determine cause of death. Lastly, poultry does get colds and this will cause death if not taken care of. Colds get mistaken for disease all the time...
