So the feed story I bought my chicks from just got Ameraucanas. We just bought 2 Bantoms and 2 Sex links a week and a half ago. Is it too late to get two or three Amaricuanas and introduce them?

I have different age chicks together all the time and don't have problems. It just depends on the size and age of chicks. I have put day old Large fowl chicks with week to 2 week old bantam chicks and had no problems.

I do as well. I dont think the heat means as much when it is hot. I have the light off now on my 1 and 2 week olds. probably will go turn it on in about a hour. It is a 250 watt red light 3 feet off the ground. chicks seem to stay out of the middle except durning the early hours.

They have plenty of room. The feed store said that more than likely my other chicks that are a week older will pick on them since they are smaller and younger.

If you do have a problem with the older ones picking on the younger, depending on your brooder set up, you might consider putting up a screen between them so they can see, but not reach eachother. After a few days, try taking it out and see what happens.

I mixed day olds with 3 week olds and didn't have any problems. But when they were 5 weeks and 2 weeks I added more day olds and had to separate the 5 week olds, but they were fine with the 2 week olds, which made the eventual integration a week later go a little more smoothly.
